Kohunlich

A bicycle journey of 2km until we reach the archaeological zone Kohunlich. You will be able to climb to “Los Mascarones” temple, where you will have the best view of the ruins and of the Mayan jungle.

The most important archaeological sites are: the Temple of the Sun the Ball Field, Palace of the Stella’s and the Acropolis among others. The grand diversity of trees in combination with a great variety of animals makes Kohunlich a magical, exotic and refreshing place.

Dzibanche

We will explore the archaeological site by visiting the Temple of Lintels (Templo de los Dinteles) and the Temple of the Owl (Templo del Búho). A walk of approximately one and a half hour. We will interpret the local flora and fauna.

Considered the most important Mayan city within the state of Quintana Roo. Dizibanché once housed 40 thousand inhabitants during the classic period. There is solid evidence about Kinichná being its satellite city, and Kohunlich paying tribute to this great metropolis.

Kinichná

Kinichná is named after a large covered wooden lintel with glyphs from the early seventh century, which shows signs of Teotihuacan influence of the central highlands. A cultural wonder surrounded by jungle.

This interesting archaeological site, located approximately 40 miles from the hotel, we visit the traditional way by truck, but you can also do mountain biking or walking to enjoy the adventure and explore thousands of mounds and buildings still buried in the jungle.

Sites in Campeche

We will visit two archaeological sites in Campeche, which are 75Km away from The Hotel: Becan and Chicaná.

The majestic Balam-Ku’s, Becan and its protective wall, the third tower of Xpujil, the exquisite “Fachada del Hormiguero”, and the Calakmul biosphere reserve.

Chichan-Há

Great opportunity to explore the local flora and fauna of the jungle in an 8 km bicycle journey. You will be able to visit Chichan Há one of the few colonial sites that subsists in Quintana Roo.

Rappel

Paraiso

We will travel until we reach a 75-meter high wall in the town of “Paraiso”, which stands 53 miles towards Campeche. This will be an excellent opportunity to explore the tall evergreen tropical forest of Quintana Roo’s south region.

Cara Blanca

We will travel 1 hour 30 minutes until we reach a 70-meter high wall near the town of Calderon on the banks of the river, deep natural border with Belize. After this we will do a hiking of approximately 1 hour in the jungle of Quintana Roo.

Bacalar

We will travel 1hour and 15 minutes until we find the beautiful lagoon of Bacalar. We will kayak through the crystalline 7-color waters and, if it is downwind, we will have the opportunity to sail in a 9-foot Catamaran.

We will travel 1 hour until we find the town of Xul Há. We will kayak through the channel in the Cenote of Xul-Ha and that will lead us to Bacalar lagoon.

Canal de Jade

We will travel an hour to the city of Chetumal, until we reach the place where we will do kayaking in the beautiful waters that come from Bacalar lagoon in which we will have the opportunity to swim in these magical places.

Chakambakam

We will travel 40 minutes until we reach Chakambakan Lagoon where we will have the opportunity to kayak between reed beds visiting the natural habitat of the Moreleti crocodile and other species of Flora and Fauna.

This is an excellent chance to enjoy the jungle by night and discover the wonders that the night sky and darkness have to offer.
